About the Rotary Ultra Team Challenge Events

The Rotary Ultra Team Challenge offers you the opportunity to participate in an exciting team event that takes you through the picturesque West Australian countryside along a heritage trail that follows the path of the Eastern Railway that formerly linked Fremantle to York in the late 1880s.  The event will be run over one day, those choosing to walk can opt for a shorter course.

The main event involves a Ultra 75km trail bike ride or Ultra 50km ride, walk or run for teams of 2 to 4 people.  It is designed to provide a significant physical challenge while, at the same time, raising funds for the MSWA.  The course will take the cycle teams from Bernard Park in the centre of Northam along the edge of the Avon River until the footpath meets the Kep Track.  Teams will then follow the Kep Track through Clackline, Bakers Hill, Wundowie and Chidlow to Mt Helena before switching on to the Railway Heritage Trail through Parkerville and the John Forrest National Park to finish at the location of the old Swan View Railway Station.  Runners and walkers will start from Bakers Hill and follow the same course finishing at the Swan View Railway Station.

Walkers and runners can choose to take the 50km course which starts in Bakers Hill or the 21.1km half marathon option starting at Chidlow.  All participants will finish at Swan View.

Start times have been amended so that teams doing the events of shorter duration can finish earlier in the day giving them time for other activities if they choose to head off once they have finished their events.
