Event Rules


  • The Conquer the Quarry event provides participants with the opportunity to experience rock climbing, abseiling, zip lining and dyno jumping.
  • There will be 4 half-day sessions on 5th May and 6th May 2018 with each session catering for a maximum of 35 participants. Participants can enjoy as many abseiling and rock climbing sessions as can be accommodated in their half-day session.
  • The rock climbing sessions will be done in pairs with one participant climbing while the other holds the belay rope. Similarly abseiling will be done in pairs.
  • Participants can elect whether to attend either the morning or afternoon session on Saturday 5th May or Sunday 6th Morning sessions will start at 8:30am and finish at 12:30pm and afternoon sessions will start at 1:30pm and finish at 5:30pm. Participants should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of their session.
  • Refreshments will be available on site.
  • The registration fee for each participant will be $120 which will cover the cost of the event and will include a good quality event polo shirt in the appropriate size.
  • Each registrant is required to raise a minimum of $250 for the nominated charities. The nominated charities are:
    • Cambodia Hospital Equipment Project – to fund the shipment of donated second hand hospital equipment to Cambodia;
    • Making Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder History – a project to reduce the devastating effect of FASD in the Goldfields region;
    • Interplast – which sends teams of plastic surgeons and medical staff to third world countries to carry out pro-bono operations on cleft palates, hare lips and burns victims as well as training local staff; and

  • Registrants can choose which of the nominated charities their donations will be directed towards. Donations can be directed to one or two of the charities.
  • All donors will be entitled to tax receipts for their donations.
  • Any registrant who does not achieve the required $250 of donations before 30 April 2018 will not be entitled to participate but will not be entitled to a refund of their registration fee or the donations already made.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old.  Children under 18 years old may be allowed to participate at the discretion of the organisers  provided approval is obtained from a parent or guardian who is present at the event.
  • Changing a participant is allowed before 5 pm on Thursday 3rd May: Notify the event organisers by email to rotaryosbpk@gmail.com as early as possible
