The Kep Track is part of the National Trust of Australia (WA) Golden Pipeline project to commemorate the water supply pipeline built in the 1890s to pump water to Kalgoorlie. Kep (Gep) is a Noongar word for water.
Built mainly on a disused rail reserve, the trail has low inclines and firm gravel surface. The track is open to walkers, runners, cyclist and horse riders. It is symbolized by distinctive triangular markers cut out of steel posts that are situated at regular intervals.
